The Florida Department of Children & Families is committed to working in partnership with local communities to ensure safety, well-being and self-sufficiency for the people we serve. One of the biggest problems they face is protecting children from Child Abuse. Major legislation was passed during the 2003 legislative session to strengthen laws relating to child abuse and domestic violence. We are making great strides in facing these challenges, but there is always more to do.

We would ask your assistance in protecting our children by being aware of situations in your neighborhoods and schools, and reporting anything you may find questionable to the proper authorities. Please check out this website for ways to identify child abuse and reporting methods www5.myflorida.com/cf_web/myflorida2/healthhuman/childabuse or calling the Child Abuse Hotline – 1-800-96ABUSE(22873).
