Read about the Issues that concern all of us.
Education Issues Education:  As an elected state official, I have worked ardently to provide a first class education system for the teachers, parents and children of this state. By calling for improvements based on accountability, higher standards, and increased funding, Florida has created a learning environment that is most beneficial to our students; a learning environment that gets results.

Environment Issues Environment:  When I took office, I was astonished at how our environment was in complete disarray. The damage from decades of inattentiveness and complacency was evident and in need of immediate address. Fortunately, a reenergized movement to protect and preserve our environment swept the halls of Tallahassee and environmental conservation has been a top priority ever since.

Common Sense Government Issues Common Sense Government:  Government cannot succeed as an inefficient bureaucracy with little desire to achieve efficiencies in providing services. Success comes from maximizing efficiencies through increased accountability, investing in the state's economy through tax breaks, grants and incentives, and utilizing privatization where the private sector is better suited to provide a particular service. Public Safety Issues Public Safety:  After nearly a decade of landmark reforms, Florida has made significant strides in crime reduction and the overall safety of our communities. Today, we boast some of the lowest crime rates in state history and continue to work towards an even safer Florida.

Military and Veterans Issues Military and Veterans:  With over 225,000 active military personnel, over 12,000 National Guardsmen and 1.8 million veterans calling Florida home, it is vital that we continue to improve the lives of our military men and women. I am immensely grateful to these brave men and women and feel their call to duty should be answered with our own call to action.

Seniors Issues Seniors:  Florida has long been known as a destination for retiring seniors who desire a place to spend their golden years. This is nothing new. What is new is the approach Florida has taken in accommodating the highest number of elderly residents per capita of any state. Recent advancements like specialized health care and pharmaceutical programs, tax breaks and crime prevention geared towards senior Floridians are the result of a dedicated commitment to improving paradise for our elderly.

Health Care Issues Health Care:  When I was elected to office, Florida's health care system was inadequate and poorly prioritized, leaving far too few choices on how and where to find health care. But Floridians deserved more, comprehensive healthcare reforms that devote attention to individual care, maximizing efficiencies and ensuring our most needy received the care they required.
